Seeing Double: Barely There

Delicate, feminine and soft are all words that come to mind while viewing a sketch by Egon Schiele and a photograph from the latest Urban Outfitters look-book. The images alike feature dainty female figures undressing. Each picture evokes such a lovely softness, from the light charcoal lines in Schiele's drawing to the fluffy, pastel clothing the model wears in the photograph.

Something Blue

A visit to Picasso & Jacqueline: The Evolution of Style at the Pace Gallery was undoubtedly a highlight of my weekend. A colorful array of portraits of Jacqueline Roque, Picasso's muse and partner, comprised the exhibit. I couldn't keep my eyes off of one piece in particular, which featured a line drawing of Jacqueline on a stunning light blue backdrop. This cool-toned color seems to be popping up a lot lately in fashion, which just may be having a blue period of its own. It girls Bella Hadid and Harley Viera-Newton have been recently spotted donning robin's egg blue hues. Light blue also appeared on the Spring 2015 runways at Christian Siriano, Bottega Veneta, and HonorWhile pastels are typically reserved for Spring, I'm all for bringing them out during Fall. It's simple to don the hue, whether you want to go all-out cookie monster and sport a sky blue fur jacket or accessorize with a little something blue.
