Sale Season Sweatshirts

Isabel Marant Étoile Kony Fujiyama Sweatshirt, LPD New York Team Philo Sweatshirt, Kenzo Embroidered Tiger Sweater, Marc by Marc Jacobs Cat Intarsia Sweatshirt, Être Cécile Don't Wanna Date You Sweatshirt, J.W. Anderson Logo Sweatshirt

Sale season is among us. It's a time where fervent fashionistas purchase "expensive clothes that are still expensive but not as expensive as they were before" (put bluntly by Leandra Medine). After scouring several online stores, sales on sweatshirts caught my eye. Sweatshirts are reliably comfortable and can be styled in a variety of waysWhen they're designed by high-fashion labels like Isabel Marant or Kenzo, sweatshirts become less about sweat and more about statements.

Monday Muse: *NSYNC

Jennifer Meyer J & T Necklaces, Rodarte Jersey Top, Topshop Textured Trousers, Adidas Sneakers

This I promise youI've rekindled my love for *NSYNC. From their fangirl-worthy songs to their cheesy dance moves to Timberlake's frosted tips, they're tearin' up my heart (in the best way possible). Most people would like to say bye bye bye to *NSYNC's ridiculously outrageous 90's ensembles, but if anyone's going to embrace the boy band look, it's gonna be meAnd with that, I bid you adieu with a photo of Chris Kirkpatrick's puzzling hairstyle

True Colors

Pebbles Embroidered Dress, Les Toiles Du Soleil Fuchsia Espadrilles

While it's easy for me to hang out in a tee and sweats on a Sunday afternoon, today I mixed things up by throwing on a more put together, vibrant and colorful look. My floral embroidered dress paired with popping fuchsia espadrilles made for a comfy yet bold outfit. With all the neutral clothes I've been wearing lately it's exciting to don some true colors!

Here are some more of my color crazy picks…

Monday Muse: Stromae

ASOS Embellished Jacket, Topshop Cami, Alice + Olivia Pants, 3.1 Phillip Lim d'Orsay Flats

His stage name comes from the word 'maestro,' which is genius to begin with… The Belgian singer Stromae, infamous in Europe for his hits like Alors On Danse and Papaoutai, not only makes insanely catchy music but also has a super cool sense of style. He's often seen in either a color-blocked look or a funky geometric print and is seldom sans bow tie.
Inspired by the look that Stromae wore in GQ France, I put together an outfit. Sport a floral, embellished jacket over a cropped camisole and high waisted pants to mimic the look of this playful performer. C'est formidable, non?

Madewell Slip Dress (similar here), J.Crew Sweatshirt, Birkenstock Sandals

While I certainly don't endorse it's army association, I can't help but love camouflage. Since camouflage palette is quite neutral, it's a versatile print to wear with just about anything. This J.Crew sweatshirt is the perfect example. Here I sported the pullover with a black slip dress and Birks, but can't wait to try it out with more colorful pieces.

Over the Rainbow

Preen by Thornton Bregazzi Hoodie, Top & Skirt, Paintings by Maya Hayuk

Seeing pieces from the current Preen by Thornton Bregazzi collection immediately reminded me of Maya Hayuk's art. Both the clothes and paintings have a sense of geometrically woven colors from bright rainbow shades to dark neutrals. It's cool to see the patterns in such different mediums; Hayuk's paintings are mostly outdoor murals and street art, while the high-end Preen pieces were worn on the runway in London!
