The Ballet Palette

Endless Rose A Line Skirt, Topshop Wrap Skirt, Zara Frilled Mini Skirt

Because of my affinity for ballerinas (owed entirely to Edgar Degas), I became outrageously excited while discovering photographs from J.Crew's September 2011 catalog. It featured ballerinas from the St. Petersburg Ballet doing their points, positions and pliés while clad in J.Crew cashmere. What struck me most about the photographs was the stunning color palette. Ivory tights and ballet pink slippers were paired with a variety of muted neutral sweaters, from heather grey to light camel. Eager to wear these beautiful colors in spring, I've put together a collection of ballet-palette sweaters and skirts.

  2. One of my favorite J. Crew catalogs of all time. In fact, I dedicated a whole post to it when I got in in the mail! Any one of these outfits would look so light and graceful for spring. I hope there's a trip to Zara in my future!

  3. These are great picks, I'm really in love with white garments lately. Whether it's a pair of flared pants, a skirt or a dress. My favourite of this selection is the last skirt, I bet it will look good with a slouchy cable knit.
