All That Jazz

Marc Jacobs Dress, Kate Spade Pumps

Ever since I saw Baz Luhrmann's The Great Gatsby, I've been eager to don a 1920s inspired look. My school's homecoming dance this past weekend was the perfect opportunity.
To transform into a modern flapper, I paired my tiered ruffled dress with black patent leather pumps. I coiffed my hair into a relaxed version of the finger wave, which was highly popular in the era.
I totally felt like a fierce female from the twenties. I even began to empathize with them; they partied at speakeasies to take a break from fighting for their rights and I danced at homecoming to escape the toils of homework and college applications!

Cats are stealing the fashion spotlight. Don't get me wrong, I love a furry feline (cough, cough), but lets give the pups a chance for once. I've rounded up some of the best woof-worthy pieces; hopefully Valentino's pug posse would approve! After all, aren't dogs a (wo)man's best friend?

What animal would you like to see have its 15 minutes of fashion fame?

To The Sea

Free People Tank, J.Crew Eyelet Capris and Booties, 3.1 Phillip Lim for Target Handbag, Emilio Pucci Scarf

On my daily drive to school down the Pacific Coast Highway, I can't help but think how lucky I am to live by the ocean. Its blue-grey hue truly sparkles.
The beach and sunny California have definitely influenced my style, adding a bit of a laid back attitude to my typically tailored look. Here, for example, I paired a mellow ombré tank with textured navy eyelet trousers, a structured handbag and sleek jet black booties.
