My Masterpiece

When I was at sleep away camp, I took fabric arts as my intensive. So basically I was in the fabric arts building for an hour every day, sitting at a machine, sewing something. In that class I made a tote. It's this teddy bear applique type thing on the front of the bag, and then the body and straps are a deep red corduroy. It was super easy to make, and I learned that I really enjoy to make bags.

So now I'm in the midst of sewing different sorts of bags. The most current one is definitely my favorite. I worked extremely hard on it, and I'm so happy with how it turned out. I can't decided whether I should use it for school or not. I doubt I will, because I don't think it has the capability of holding all my heavy binders and books. But I must say it is very adorable!

The body of the bag is made out of old linen my mom gave me, and the straps are a pink floral cotton fabric. For the pocket on the front I put magazine cutouts in-between two pieces of acetate. It was surprisingly easy to make, and in the future I'm planning on making more in different shapes and sizes.
